I am an artist. Back in the late 90's I started research on audio transformers. Combining art with electronics I made a crude battery instead of the audio transformer I was trying to make. Basically the idea was to create something to enhance audio like a battery would enhance power but the audio didn't have to be that clear. Mostly to be used for a high voltage transformer. This didn't work that good as a battery but it started the idea of fixing batteries that didn't charge up any more because it would make the battery charge up so much it could make it so it only charged up while on the charger (self discharge). So I thought I would send this idea to NASA as it might be something they could use because it made old batteries work again. I checked and the NIAC (NASA institute for advanced concepts) website had a call for proposals so I made one to send in. Lack of funds was the main reason for not making the deadline but at least I had a topic for a website which began to evolve into a personal web site to display some writings and art work. The original proposal is here along with short stories, photos, art work and some games. I don't make that original dielectric any more but I am experimenting with different types (nickel-metal-hydride types). Back then I didn't know what to call the dielectric I was using for the proposal was but I was hoping most people could understand what it wasn't. At that time I was thinking It must be a unique idea or most people wouldn't try this with lead acid or alkaline. As it turned out it was a nickel metal hydride type of dielectric. These can be fixed but not to the new condition they are when they are bought as far as I know.
As I stated at first I am an artist so I saw how this could be used for art work. A battery has memory so experimenting with different types of dielectrics is like a picture or drawing is a memory of some type. I was making audio recordings so I am guessing that made me a recording artist. It took awhile to make one good recording so I could stay interested in making them. I play music sometimes but I don't call myself a musician or a recording engineer. Back in the 80's I was a drummer for the Stray Cats so if you listen to the three Stray Cats and a drummer I would probably be that drummer
